The calm of a perfect day, the animated movement of the clouds, the drama of an approaching storm . . .
"There is something about the distant line that divides the sky from the ground that has always compelled us, what one sees in it depends on the person: it might be spirituality, a fear of the unknown, or a yearning to travel. Whatever the attraction, the artist's distillation of those fleeting atmospheric conditions on canvas still has the power to move us. I paint, perhaps, wanting to know what lies beyond."
